Charity Visit to Rumah Charis - 25 December 2014

Merry Christmas !!!

Not forgetting the aged and the poor on this festive season. We went to "Relau Rumah Charis Home For The Senior Citizens" to share the joy and caring of Christmas.

Prior to the visit, we contacted the person in-charge of Rumah Charis about what they needed and an appointment for the visit.

Upon arriving, we received a warm welcome from the committee and all lovely uncle and auntie. We had a small birthday celebration with 3 birthday boy/girl(s) who was borned in month of December. We bought everyone a pack of chicken rice as lunch and we ate together like a big family.

Program Bag 2 School - 15 November 2014

The core activities of our association focus on social welfare and children education. We hope by helping the needy, together, we can help make a difference and build a better and caring society.

With the support of YB Cheah Kah Peng (State Assemlyman of Kebun Bunga) and other philanthropists, our association managed to raise fund for 100 sets of school bag and stationary to needy students from Keong Hoe primary school in Sungai Dua.

We hope this activity will help to ease the burden of parents and at the same time provide a morale boost to the students preparing for new challenges when the school re-open in 2015.

The presentation ceremony was help at SRJK (C) Keong Hoe school, Sungai Dua on 15th November 2014, 2pm. The program was running smoothly and it is a great honor for us to have YB Cheah Kah Peng as our honorable guest for the afternoon.

We would like to convey our gratitude to donors that have made this event a success. May all of you have a blessed health, ample prosperity and a harmonize family.

Blood Donation and Organ Donor Registration Campaign - 2 March 2014

With the assistance of the Penang General Hospital Blood Bank and National Transplant Resource Centre, a Blood Donation and Organ Donor Registration Campaign was held on 2 March 2014 at Tesco Extra Sungai Dua.

Although only a total of 7 individuals pledged their organs in this campaign,  it is a very encouraging number according to the official in-charge as awareness among Malaysians on organ donation still low.

As for blood donation, a total of 63 donors registered. Unfortunately, only 49 were eligible to donate. The 14 were rejected because they were either underweight, having high blood pressure or low blood pressure or had lived in the United Kingdom from 1980 till 1996 or in Europe between 1980 until the present.  A total of 49 units of blood were collected from the caring donors.

It was observed that all blood donors were well aware of the importance of blood donation and their reason for donating blood was to save life, to help people during critical conditions and emergencies should be a regular habit for a good cause.

The campaign, heralded with the slogan “give the gift of life”, started at 10am and finished at 4.00pm.
