Blood donation campaign - 11/11/2017
Persatuan
Sahabat Prihatin Pulau Pinang and JKKK Taman Pekaka will jointly organize a
blood donation campaign at Tesco Extra Sungai Dua on November 11 (Saturday)
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We welcome public to come forward and support such a
meaningful event.
Cheah Peng
Guan, chairman of Persatuan Sahabat Prihatin Pulau Pinang, said that the
campaign was held in response to the call of the Penang Hospital Blood Bank to
alleviate the problem of low blood stock. The event was also supported by
Penang City Council members Gan Ay Ling and Kumaresan Arumugam.
"This
time, we jointly organize the event with JKKK Taman Pekaka to promote community
service awareness. The organizer hope to collect 100 packs of blood"
In addition,
Lew Kah Weng, chairman of the JKKK Taman Pekaka, called on residents of Taman
Pekaka to donate blood actively in response to the call of "saving three
lives with 1 blood donation".
"This
is a very meaningful activity, especially since Penang Hospital Blood Bank
needs a lot of blood daily."
MBPP
Councilor Gan Ay Ling hopes more young people will come forward to donate their
blood.
"Everyone
knows that blood donation is the easiest way to help others, and at the same
time there is no harm to the body. However, there are still many qualified
people who dare not make the first move"
In
conjunction with this blood donation event, MBPP Councilor Kumaresan Arumugam
has also make special arrangement to facilitate local residents and hawkers to
pay their various bills thru MBPP mobile payment counter, this including MBPP
rental, MBPP summon ticket, MBPP assessment and water bill and so on.
"Mobile
payment counter will be available from 12 noon to 3 pm on that day and public
can choose to pay their bills by cash, cheque or money order."
